Week 12

I LOST 4LBS THIS WEEK! The caps may seem like bragging - but maybe I just need to brag a little bit! That puts my total at 29.6lbs. Can you believe that?

I look at it this way -

1- The pants I wore on Valentines day were tight tight tight - now they are lose! Really that's not quite 3 months.
2- I weigh less than I did the day I got married, thus I have lost all of my baby weight from dear Grace and Max.
3- Only 3 more pounds and I'll be where I was at when I quit Weight Watchers 4 years ago.

Have a great week!

Chicken Bacon Ranch Wraps

Ups and Downs, Easter was up. The week after was up. It seemed like I was starving for 3 straight weeks.

Last week I was down 3lbs- which pushed me over 25lbs lost! I'm certain I'm not going to hit my goal by my birthday, but I'm trying for 40 by the end of Jun. 15lbs in two months should be doable!

Last night I made chicken bacon ranch wraps that were so delish!

We used the carb balance Mission Tortillas - more expensive but only 2 points per tortilla. Then I put fat free Ranch on mine - 0 points. (Mike used low fat Miracle Whip and Hot mustard. 1 point). I had some Hickory Farm chicken sandwich meat that you can have quite a bit for 2 points. I cooked some turkey bacon, 1 point per slice. Then I put tomato's, cucumbers, carrots and lettuce and wrapped it in the shell. The whole thing was 4-5 points depending on how much chicken you add. We ate it with corn on the cob (0 points) and broccoli slaw (1 point). I got stuffed. It was so good, for not too many points!

Questions and Answers

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... Don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one.

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Week 7 -

This week was hard. I was hungry. I was PMSey. (Yes, we all know that is a word.) I wanted to snack and I wanted food.

I made cookies and brownies to take to my cousins baby blessing, and then it was snowing so hard we didn't go, we had crown burger with Mike's dad and they messed up my order and gave me fries instead of rice. We had pizza... Yes this week was hard...

So - I wore lite pants.... I cheated in a sort of way... I know they were 1lbs different than my levi's, but I did it anyway... Just so I could lose 1lbs this week - but I was surprised at the scale, I lost 2lbs!

So I'm at 23, in my little less heavy pants.... I may have sabotaged me for next week, or I may just have to wear them every Thursday. The main problem with that theory is that they were so big I had to keep pulling them up - not sure how well that strategy is going to work for me!

Here's to an easier week!

I DID IT!

The day I started Weight Watchers the meeting leader talked about setting a small goal - and then steps to reach that goal. Well, I am a larger person, so small goals seemed pointless to me... I liked losing 5lbs, then 10lbs, but I wanted big numbers... My small goal was losing 20lbs in 6 weeks.

Last night I went and weighed in and was nervous all day, did I do it? I was pretty sure I was going to be about 1/2 lb short, so I'll be honest, I only ate 5 points before I weighed in at 5:30 last night... but it was worth it - I lost 4lbs - that put me at 21.2lbs in 6 weeks. I did it!

Week 5 -

Well after 5 full weeks I had another great weigh in, and I honestly was not expecting it. The last couple of days I just haven't felt it - I stayed at my mom and sisters house yesterday, and Nicole is a baker, and let's say her chocolate chip cookies were awesome. I limited myself - but lets just say it's good I had to go to the dentist and my mouth hurt so bad afterwards I didn't have anymore.

I lost 3.2 more lbs, so my total is 17.2 - my goal is 3lbs this week so I can be at 20lbs in 6 weeks, wouldn't that be awesome?

AND THE BEST PART ABOUT THIS WEEK - I FIT IN A PAIR OF JEANS I HAVE NOT BEEN IN SINCE BEFORE I WAS PREGNANT WITH MAX, THAT IS OVER A YEAR AND A HALF! IT WAS THE BEST FEELING!

Challenges

One of my favorite things about living close to family is being able to celebrate with loved ones - One of the biggest challenges for dieting is celebrating with loved ones....

This weekend we had a birthday party for Mike's mom - the menu - pizza, bread sticks, 3 types of gourmet cakes and 2 kinds of ice cream.

Well, I didn't want to be rude and not eat at all - but I did ask my sister-in-laws if they would pick up a bag of salad when they went to get drinks and ice cream... We ordered one of the pizza's thin crust and I'm sure it was still 6 points a slice - but it was so good - I had to have two. And I only tried one of the cakes, and only had one piece, and no ice cream... So - all in all, I'm sure I used some flex points - but I didn't do too bad....

Sunday we went up to my mom's and I asked her to be nice to me.... She made baked potato's, chicken, green salad and my sister brought sugar free jello - It was so good! You really can eat good meals with low points, it just takes effort...

Well all in all, I'm down a few ounces from the weekend, which is way better than being up! Hopefully the next few days are easier and Thursday's weigh in will be great!

14!

Good news at the scale last night - I lost another 3.4 lbs - bringing my total to 14lbs.... I am so excited! No real change in clothes yet, maybe my belt is a little looser, but no real changes just yet...

So - I am honestly trying to follow the Weight Watchers good health guidelines - I am eating apples, oranges, salads, and carrots everyday - and I'm liking it... But...

In last nights meeting the group was talking about not denying yourself things you really enjoy, for example one girl said she eats 3 mini milky ways everyday (3 points) and that way she doesn't go crazy and buy a king size at the check out stand....

Another person said she allows her self 1 small cup of ice cream every night just to curb her cravings... This went on and on..

Tragically I was born without the power to curb cravings and self control... This is why I'm there in the first place... I just don't get the shut it off and stop eating it- if it's there, I'm going to eat it... Example - I LOVE potato chips - and if I were to have just one of the salty, savory chips - I would eat the whole bag. I know me... so how does a person find that balance? Can I purchase a shut off valve?

So - I have been so so so good for the past three weeks, and for now my plan is to continue to be so so so good, with a hint of food denial.

Week 2

Week 2 at Weight Watchers I lost 3.4 so that makes 10 total! 10lbs in 2 weeks? I really should have started sooner! I stopped drinking soda all together - haven't had a drop in nearly 3 weeks - I've done this before and had similar results - but I just love COKE so much! But if I'm going to lose the rest of this "baggage" I've got to stay strong!!!

Week 1 results

I should have joined Weight Watchers sooner. I knew it worked, and I tried to do it on my own, but I just have to be accountable at that scale in order for it to work!

I lost 7.2 lbs this week! That is a great start! I know it's no biggest loser, but I don't have a Bob either....

KEEP ME GOING!

(Apparently the counter rounds up, but it should say 7.2....)

dOWN

Down 1 more, and not super happy about it. I worked my butt off this week, I actually exercised four days, and I ate good, except for Patch's farewell day, and I only lost 1 lbs???? ARG!
